"Ja'nae, Ashley and Dr. Bender definitely made me smile today. This is dentistry on another level. When you walk in, you are are warmly greeted and made to feel as though you are the most important patient they have. The waiting room wait is minimal to none. You are greeted by your Dental assistant who escorts you back to the dental area and you are almost immediately attended to. This office uses a team approach, so their may be more than one assistant that works with you and maybe even more than one dentist, but the transitions are seemless. I must add however that Dr. Bender's hands are truly blessed. Dr. Bender's touch is steady, sure, and efficient. She is humble and it is clear that she wants to make sure that you understand what is happening every step of the way, you are comfortable and that you are more than satisfied. Dr. Acorn is equally gifted. You cannot go wrong...Mint dentistry where have you been and why did it take you so long to get here? For the first time in my life, I do not dread going to the dentist. May you all continue to be blessed as you continue to be a blessing."- S.L. / Google / Mar 28, 2019
Your dental bite and alignment are determined by many factors: sucking your thumb as a child, genetics, missing one or several teeth, or a traumatic injury to your lower face. The misalignment of your teeth often leads to other oral health problems, like dental malocclusion (a bad bite), abnormal enamel wear, trouble speaking and chewing, as well as jaw pain and toothaches. If your MINT dentist notices one of these concerns during your dental exam, we may recommend an orthodontic treatment, like Invisalign®.
Orthodontic treatments like Invisalign® are wonderful for both adults and teens who want straighter teeth without the hassle and appearance of traditional braces. Although they do need to be worn most of the time, Invisalign® can be taken out in order to eat and brush your teeth, as well as for special events and playing sports. Far more discreet than metal braces, other people usually will not be able to tell that you are wearing your aligners.
What to Expect
After your consultation, your first Invisalign® trays will be created using digital impressions taken by your MINT dentistry team. When they are ready, you will come back to receive your first aligners and instructions from one of our skilled doctors. You should to wear your aligners the majority of the day for the process to work effectively, ideally taking them out only to eat and brush your teeth. In time, you will move to the next set of aligners as they gently move your teeth closer to their final alignment. You will need to schedule appointments every 4 – 6 weeks to have the fit of your aligners checked and have more digital impressions taken, which will be used to make your next set of aligners. The length of time that you will use Invisalign® will vary based on the original position of your teeth and your cosmetic goals, but most patients wear aligners for around a year.
When you have completed your last set of trays and your bite is aligned, it's important to allow time for your gums and jaw to adjust to the new position of your teeth. Invisalign® Vivera® retainers help to hold your teeth in place using the same comfortable material as your aligner trays. Each retainer will be made custom at the Invisalign® dental laboratory based on digital impressions taken after your teeth are in the right position. Your dentist will explain how often to wear your retainer and how to care for it once it is shipped to our facility from the Invisalign® dental lab. We will continue to check your bite and alignment at your annual dental exams.
The MINT Commitment
Typically, a portion of the cost your Invisalign® treatment is covered if you are using dental insurance. Our front office will confirm your benefits and calculate your remaining bill. We take most payment methods for patients who don't have dental insurance. During your consultation, we will estimate your treatment costs and ways to make your treatment fit your budget, including flexible payment plans and medical financing. It is important to keep in mind that a confident smile is an investment in yourself. We are committed to helping you fit your dental care and treatments into your budget.
