About Dental Bridges
A missing tooth or teeth is more than just a cosmetic problem — gaps can cause other teeth to become misaligned. This can cause uneven tension on your teeth, pain when eating, or impaired speech. A bridge restores the health and appearance of your mouth by covering spaces with a false tooth that is supported by your other teeth, dental implants, or both. At MINT dentistry, our skilled team of doctors and dental professionals offers dental bridges made with the finest porcelain to restore your smile. If you are missing a tooth or teeth, schedule a consultation at MINT dentistry in Sugarland, TX to learn more about bridges. Our custom dental bridges can restore your mouth and give you a smile that's luminous.

"Ja'nae, Ashley and Dr. Bender definitely made me smile today. This is dentistry on another level. When you walk in, you are are warmly greeted and made to feel as though you are the most important patient they have. The waiting room wait is minimal to none. You are greeted by your Dental assistant who escorts you back to the dental area and you are almost immediately attended to. This office uses a team approach, so their may be more than one assistant that works with you and maybe even more than one dentist, but the transitions are seemless. I must add however that Dr. Bender's hands are truly blessed. Dr. Bender's touch is steady, sure, and efficient. She is humble and it is clear that she wants to make sure that you understand what is happening every step of the way, you are comfortable and that you are more than satisfied. Dr. Acorn is equally gifted. You cannot go wrong...Mint dentistry where have you been and why did it take you so long to get here? For the first time in my life, I do not dread going to the dentist. May you all continue to be blessed as you continue to be a blessing."- S.L. / Google / Mar 28, 2019
Many times, patients with a missing tooth believe it is just a cosmetic problem. However, there are several consequences that a missing tooth or teeth can have on your oral health. The fact is, your mouth is carefully balanced and gaps can affect the health and function of your mouth. Over time, a gap can cause your teeth to shift, creating misalignment (an overbite, underbite, or crossbite), and gum and bone atrophy. To support the restoration, your other teeth must be strong. You'll also need enough strength and density in your gums and jaw. The team of professionals at MINT dentistry will evaluate your teeth during your annual exam and consultation to help us create a customized treatment plan to help you improve your appearance.
What to Expect
Once your teeth are prepared for the bridge, our team will take digital x-rays and impressions of your teeth so your bridge can be made. If needed, a temporary bridge can be placed while your custom bridge is being made. Once your bridge is done, we will schedule an appointment to place your bridge. Before your procedure, you will be asked to sit back in a luxurious treatment chair. After putting on a pair of our MINT sunglasses and Beats headphones, the selected areas of your mouth will be numbed with local anesthesia to reduce discomfort. Other anesthesia or sedation options can be used to address anxiety, fear, or a strong gag reflex. The bridge will either be cemented in place or attached to dental implants depending on the method chosen during your consultation. Your dentist will adjust the fit of the bridge for a proper fit that feels comfortable.
When your custom bridge is set in place, you should see a vast improvement in the function of your teeth and the appearance of your smile. If your mouth feels uncomfortable following the placement, you may need a follow-up at our office. We will demonstrate how to maintain your bridge, including how to clean it. It is crucial to keep your bridge and mouth clean since buildup and cavities can still develop underneath the restoration. With proper care, your bridge should last for many years. You should keep scheduling appointments at MINT dentistry for your annual dental exam and bi-annual dental cleanings. During your exams, we will assess the health and wear of your bridge to decide if it needs to be fixed or replaced with a new custom bridge.
